Snyder’s-Lance Agrees to Pay $6M to Settle Misclassification Suit

Not much has been reported about this settlement, but Law360 reports that “Snyder’s-Lance agreed to pay $6 million to a collective of 300 distributors who urged a North Carolina court to sign off on the deal after accusing the company of misclassifying them as independent contractors.”

Snyder’s-Lance is a producer and supplier of snack food. In 2018, they paid $1.6 million to settle another class-action lawsuit that drivers filed alleging the company had misclassified them as independent contractors. The company did not admit any wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement nonetheless.
