The CPO’s role has changed. It is now more difficult and complex. Deloitte’s 2021 Global Survey says that a good way to handle this increased difficulty and complexity is by being agile, so that both CPOs and companies can grow along with new opportunities.
It’s no question that 2020 and the global pandemic changed the world, but how did it change the procurement industry specifically? Now CPOs need to think about digital transformation, government policies, introducing new products and services, climate change, and more.
This year’s survey found that agility has a strong correlation with higher performance. Those in the top quartile of agility, “agility masters”, outperform their peers in most areas.
