House Passes Legislation Codifying Browning, Three-factor IC Test

Summary

In early March, the House of Representatives passed legislation that could significantly affect several aspects of employment law, specifically providing federal regulations on independent contractor classification, the standards for joint employment, and restore standards that were overturned by Trump during his time in office.

In short, the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act of 2021 “restores fairness to the economy by strengthening the federal laws that protect workers’ right to organize a union and bargain for higher wages and better benefits.”
